Essentials for an Impromptu Holiday Gathering

A little unprepared for the back-to-back Holiday festivities? If you’re in need of a quick and easy treat for your next impromptu Holiday gathering these Santa Hats are a tasty addition that are bound to excite your guests! Next on the list, a fun Holiday dress!

What You Need:
Brownie bites – can be found pre-made in grocery store or make your own using a muffin tin and brownie mix
Fresh strawberries
Whip cream – I suggest frozen cool whip as it sets up better

Easy How-To:

1.If you bought frozen cool whip, remove from freezer to thaw
2.Wash strawberries and cut the stem off so the end of the strawberry is flat
3.Put brownie bites on the serving tray you would like to use
4.Using a spoon dollop the whip cream on top of the brownie bite
5.Place a strawberry on top of the whip cream with tip of strawberry pointing up

Add a small dollop of whip cream to the tip of the strawberry to complete your Santa Hat treats! Enjoy!

Lisa Andersen Champ Camp Meets the North Shore

The globetrotting Lisa Andersen Champ Camp made its fourth stop on the North Shore of Oahu to recruit and train the local girls and progress their surfing skills. Shortly after surfing in the frigid, Canadian waters at the Lisa Andersen Champ Camp in Tofino, 4x World Champion Lisa Andersen and Roxy professional surfer Rosy Hodge hopped on a plane with their favorite holiday bikinis and headed to the tropics.

Lisa Andersen selected ten of the top up and coming shortboarders from Hawaii and the US to surf and train with her for two days on the North Shore. On day 1, each of the campers worked on specific maneuvers they wanted to improve, while Lisa and Rosy watched from the beach and gave feedback and tips for progression. The waves at Hale’iwa were fun and rippable, providing the girls with ideal conditions for practice. In the afternoon, the girls gathered around to learn from special guest and pipeline bodysurfing legend, Mark Cunningham, who gave them important big wave surfing and lifeguarding advice that’s key knowledge for any professional and amateur surfer alike. Lisa and Rosy also gave the girls media training and practice interviews, preparing them for their future careers as professional surfers.

On day 2, Lani’s Reef welcomed the crew with flawless, overhead rights that Lisa and the girls rushed the minute of their arrival. In the water, Lisa and Rosy worked with the campers one on one, and out of the water they ran heats and shared improvements on heat strategy and wave selection. A yoga session with Roxy’s Let the Sea Set You Free winner Katie McLean, followed the morning’s surf sessions and prepped the girls for their afternoon surf. Midday, the camp joined all three of Roxy’s Let the Sea Set you Free winners for a Hawaiian BBQ and ukulele session with Roxy Team Riders Kahanu Delovio and Nikki Viesins. After the day’s activities, the surf was still pumping, and the campers charged for a free surf with Lisa and Rosy. Awards and a special lei from Lisa ended the camp, but was just the beginning for the girls on their way to becoming world champs. Eat.Sleep.Wear. Comes to California

A few months back we had the pleasure of meeting Kimberly Pesch of blog Eat.Sleep.Wear. in her adoptive hometown of New York City.

We’ve always admired her travels that she beautifully documents on her blog and Pinterest, but nothing prepared us for the news that she had never been to California!

To a girl who has been all over the world, this came as quite a shock for our team at Roxy, and we immediately felt the need to get her out to California, and stat!…and that’s exactly what we did!

A self-expressed beach girl at heart, Kim fit right in at our Fall 2013 shoot. Unlike the typical city girl that may have felt like a fish outta water, Kim was quite at home up in Santa Cruz, California. Ready for early morning call times; she didn’t want to miss out on any sunrise and became fast friends with Roxy surfers Kelia Moniz, Monyca Bryne-Wickey, Justine Mauvin, and Bruna Schmitz.

Here are some of her lovely looks during her adventures up the California coast; including her trip to Manhattan Beach where she wore a sweater for all seasons, the Rochester, followed by a plaid Faded Journey shirt up at Capitola Beach, and on our last day of shooting Kim sported a motorcycle jacket (little did she know we’d actually be shooting with a motorcycle later that day!) .

For more on her trip, check out her California Dreaming Pinterest board (it’s a sight to see!). Stay tuned for more…Kim snapped tons of pics and will be sharing them with us until Fall 2013 of next year! Can’t wait.

‘Oh What Fun It Is To Ride’ Mammoth Mountain Sweepstakes

Once there were girls who dreamed of riding frozen white waves. In the dog days of winter, while everyone else shivered in their homes, they bundled up in bright colors and stepped out into the snow. They bound their boots to snowboard made just for them. They went to the very top of the highest peak and then they rode down. With every turn, every jump, every floating second, they fell in love with snowboarding. At the bottom the girls looked back to see the path they had taken and saw their fortunes written in snow.

This year we’re giving away one epic joyride for 2 to Mammoth Mountain. Between December 3rd, 2012 and December 25th 2012, you can enter for a chance to WIN this amazing trip and Roxy Torah Bright Edition prize pack! Holiday Pom Pom DIY

DIY some festive Holiday Pom Poms this season & use them to wrap gifts, string a pom pom banner, or adore your cabin’s cuckoo clock with. They’re fun, festive, and trust us, they’re simple to make.

Here’s a quick step-by-step to get you started!

What you need: Scissors and Yarn

1. Wrap the yarn around your fingers
2. Cut the end
3. Carefully remove the yarn circle from your fingers, leaving the middle open
4. Grab the center section of either side and pinch together in the middle
5. Cut a small piece of yarn to wrap around the middle of the pinched yarn circle and tie a tight knot
6. Using your scissors, carefully cut the yarn all the way around (don’t worry if it’s not even, you can always fix it up!)
7. Snip all longer ends to even out the Pom Pom
8. Before you know it, you’ll have a whole bunch!
