Greetings from Snowboard Camp!

While most of the country has beens sweating through record breaking heat, Roxy team rider Erin Comstock has been chilling out on the glacier of Mt. Hood, Oregon at one of the funnest places on earth: High Cascade Snowboard Camp. This week Erin and a bunch of talented Finnish pro snowboarders have hosted a session of camp. Fun activities have included snowboard clinics up on the mountain, meanwhile down at the camp site they’ve been flipping into foam pits, playing games of sting pong (where losers have to bare their back to the strike of a ping pong ball), dodge ball, and all-girl Roxy nights. Their still taking reservations for August sessions, so if you’re looking to beat the heat head to the hills!

Torah Bright: Chicken Jam Over and Out

The 2011 Chicken Jam is over and done with. Not exactly the weather we’d hoped for but I had so much fun to riding powder with the girls. The last night we went out to see Trouble and La Roux play up at Canyon lodge and ended up dancing the rest of the night away at The Hyde Lounge. Not a bad way to end an amazing weekend. Here are a few photos from some of the weekends adventures!

Autograph signing with Kjersti and the Wolf pack!

Dinner with Robyn, Ty, Erin, Aimee, Basa, Lesly and Amber.

Cheers, Torah

Shooting Star winner of week 3

Holy cow, there are a lot of good girl snowboarders out there! Seriously, I used to be a pro, and the game is getting fierce. Just check out all of the action going on over at the Shooting Star Youtube page, it’s pretty impressive. It was really hard for us to select a winner this week because the girls are all riding so strong. But after much deliberation, the winning video of the week belongs to Alice Gorton of Richmond, British Columbia. She impressed us with her skills and pushed it over the edge with her smooth style.

Shout-outs are also due to Danika Duffy and Zoe Mayers, who both tied for a close 2nd. We’ll be sending them extra swag to commend their efforts. Because we’re so stoked on all of the video submissions, in addition to the $1,000 and Roxy snowboard and bindings set up that will go to the overall winner on April 5th, we’ve come up with a bunch of more Roxy product to give away to runner ups. So don’t be afraid, keep those videos coming and we’ll hook you up with fun Roxy goodies! Enter here now.

Roxy Refreshments Episode 6 of 8: Ms. Superpark

Meet our friend Ms. Superpark.  She only comes around once a year, and we’re never really sure where she’s going to pop up, but she’s not to be missed.  Snowboard girls travel the distance to hang with the Ms.’s, partly because she attracts the snowboard paparazzi, is a snob for well built jumps, and promotes good snowboarding, but mostly because she’s just so much fun.  So if you’ve never been properly introduced, just check this video.  Roxy.com/snow

Roxy Refreshments Episode 5 of 8: Silverton

In this latest installment of the Roxy Refreshments follow Robin Van Gyn, Erin Comstock and friends deep into the mountains of Silverton, Colorado. It’s a wintertime mecca for deep snow with a lawless old west charm that makes it arguably the most legit mountain town in the US- but beware, it is not for the faint of heart. A trip to Silverton involves braving a narrow road with no guardrail and a 2,000 foot vertical drop-off, mingling with the kind of suspect characters that wind up in hard to reach places, and the occasional run ins with wildlife. So if you have an adventurous spirit and enjoy snowy getaways, add Silverton, Colorado to your list of must tries, and if not, just watch this video and see what you’re missing.
