Roxy Spring 2013 Catalog is here!

The enchanted chain of the Maldivian Islands, southwest of India is home to isolated reef banks, uninhabited white sand beaches, secluded villages and crystal clear water  - one of our favorite places on earth. Sharing waves, laughter, fresh fish, and empty line-ups together, we asked ourselves what else we would need to live out our dreams.

Shop the new catalog here and enjoy these behind the scenes photos and video from the Roxy surf team’s adventures in the Maldives!

Maldives Surf Trip with Roxy

Playful right-handers and crystal-clear waters—the Maldives almost seems like they were made for our Roxy Surf Team. The tropical paradise has three key surfing zones spanning over 300 miles—that’s 300 miles of pristine point breaks as well as colorful, shallow reefs. Whether it was Sally Fitz slashing a front-hand right, or Kassia Meador dancing on her longboard, the Roxy girls were chasing dreams and catching waves just in time when spring fever set in. They grabbed their spring bikinis for single-fin cruises and reef explorations. Check out a snapshot of their Maldivian adventures.

Get out there, your wave is waiting…#DAREYOURSELF

We’re All on This Ride Together

We have been trailblazers from the very beginning. By marrying fashion and performance we turned our world upside down and inspired a wave of girls to head out into the surf. We were born in the ocean and carved our way to the mountains — and we’re not done yet. This is our heritage and our future — Ride strong and create the next big wave.

This is a look our most inspirational Roxy girls from around the world including Olympic half pipe snowboard Gold Medalist Torah Bright, professional surfers, Kelia Moniz, Kassia Meador, Jen Smith, Monyca Byrne-Wickey, and Bruna Schmitz. This is a look at our most inspirational Roxy girls from around the world including Olympic half pipe snowboard Gold Medalist Torah Bright, professional surfers, Kelia Moniz, Kassia Meador, Jen Smith, Monyca Bryne-Wickey and Bruna Schmitz.

Fall for Colored Denim

As Summer comes to a close and Fall rolls in so does an exciting blend of new colors. More simply, we’re tripping out on color and obsessing over our colored denim.

With colors reminiscent of the coast of Northern California: Big Sur (the location of this year’s Fall photo shoot), a mix of warm sunset hues, golden glows, moss covered coastlines,  turquoise sea-lines, and a mix of our favorite deep indigos infuse our denim to make an unmatched mix up of fun colors for Fall.

Since denim undoubtedly reigns supreme in our closets this time of year we’re delighted to have plenty to pick from…And we love that the ankle length gives that extra needed versatility to pair with ankle booties like the Westbourne boots and looks rocker chic with a pair of rolled up Skinny Floods in Moss Cove (a personal fav of Kelia Moniz).

For a softer approach, the boldly beautiful Gold denim is nothing short of sweet alongside the cropped vanilla Moon Fall top, and for the feet, some lacey Sloane Boots, in tan of course!  To us, this is the perfect golden girl ensemble for the season.

Continuing with the denim trend, warm it up with vivid scarlets in the Coastal Cove denim. This rich color is easily mixed with some easy Azul sandals or some strappy two-tone Biscayne Boots, and don’t forget a sweater!

…and in the spirit of our opening pic…sorry Summer, but ‘That’s a wrap!’

Aloha from the 2012 Roxy Waikiki Classic

The 2012 Roxy Waikiki Classic took over Queens Beach, Waikiki, on June 16 & 17 (Fathers Day weekend)! The free amateur surf contest included both longboard and shortboard divisions for girls and women of all ages. This year the event also hosted the one and only ASP Women’s Longboard Qualifier in Hawaii, giving the local girls a chance to compete for a spot on the 2013 World Longboard Tour! Honorable mentions in the ASP event include Crystal Dzigas who was crowned winner of the professional longboard final Roxy Team Riders Kelia Moniz who took second, and Vanina Walsh who finished fourth.

With 173 competitors in the amateur division and 24 ASP pros… along with their friends, families and supporters on the beach, you could say there was an impressive turn out! While the surf contest showcased new and returning talent, there was also a ton of action on the beach! Paul Mitchell was on site with their very own hair styling pros and they kept the crowds busy by conditioning/braiding girls’ hair! Anyone who was dry or just out of the water could stop by the Paul Mitchell tent for a beach “do” and learn about hair care and special products for the beach.

There was always something fun going on at the Roxy Tent with customized flip flops, raffles, giveaways and athlete signings with Roxy pro surfers Rosy Hodge, Kelia Moniz, Lisa Andersen, Jen Smith, Monyca Byrne-Wickey, Amy Murphree, and Vanina Walsh! These girls were hanging out all day long getting into the spirit and meeting all the competitors.

Jamba Juice stoked out the beach with free smoothies and the Kokua Hawaii Foundation got on board to share their knowledge and “how to’s” on making recycling fun! They set up recycle stations around the beach and encouraged people to get creative by making their own sea turtles out of bottle caps! The Roxy Initiative joined forced to share the importance of recycling and set up a water station with re-useable bottles for a donation. The Roxy Initiative raised just over $2000 for the Kokua Hawaii Foundation which will be matched and rounded up to $5000 to help fund the Plastics Free Hawaii initiative.

With tons of stoke and Roxy love going around (in and out of the water), the event was for sure a favorite! Roxy hopes to spread the love around the USA one day soon with more events just like it! The Waikiki Classic aims to become a series that will continue to grow in the upcoming years! Stay tuned for 2013 dates coming soon…

“[The Waikiki Classic] is all about having a good time and giving back to the sport. We want to teach the youth so they can learn how to surf and enjoy it like we did! The more events we have like this the more we can inspire the next generation.” – Lisa Andersen, 2012 Roxy Waikiki Classic

Paul Mitchell Beach Hair: Surf in the City to the Waves of Waikiki

Roxy Team riders Monyca Bryne-Wickey and Kelia Moniz were recently in the Big Apple for some Surf and the City action and were lucky enough to get a full hair makeover by our friends at Paul Mitchell (wait until you see the pictures!!).

They sampled products from Paul Mitchell’s Sun, Awapuhi Wild Ginger and Tea Tree collections.

Kelia’s favorite? The Tea Tree Tingle…just a little something we’re packing in our beach bags this Summer, and to keep our hair soft, shiny, and protected from the rays we’re throwing in Monyca’s pick, the Sun Shield Conditioning Spray!

Looks like the Roxy girls (& the Paul Mitchell team) will be bringing some of the City to Surf when they leave the likes of New York in search of sunshine & waves at the ROXY Waikiki Classic on June 15th -17th at Queens Beach! We’re so excited to have Paul Mitchell as our event sponsor this year. We’ll SEA you there…Registration is still open!
