Roxy Ride Days

The Roxy Ride Day series ended on a high note this past weekend at the Lake Louise Ski Resort in Alberta. Canada. It was an amazing event with tons of eager young riders between the ages of 8-30 ready to take on the elements and experience the terrain with some of our top team riders including Robin Van Gyn and Erin Comstock. The entire Roxy Ride Days series (3 cities) was a huge success with great camaraderie, amazing prizes, Roxy goody bags, athlete demos and plenty of personal progression. Big thanks are due to the Even of Women’s Snowboard Federation, Ashley Turk, and everyone who came out to support!

Catalog Countdown: Type It Out

We’re back!…showing you more behind the scenes of our Summer catalog as we countdown until it officially drops on April 23rd (how excited are you!?). Last time we showed you the press check and a quick recap on the process. Now we’re diving even deeper, and giving you some cultural insight and showing you how BALI lives throughout our catalog pages.

Roxy Graphic Designer Devin Dailey went with the Roxy team riders on the journey of a lifetime and took plenty of pictures along the way. He found inspiration in the typography used on Bali’s hand painted signs and boats as well as all the bright colors and textures.

When it came time to start designing the catalog, Devin Dailey & Becca Kudela pulled out those inspirational photos creating some amazing hand painted type to really capture that Balinese vibe…stay tuned…we’ll be continuing our catalog countdown next week!

Friends of Roxy: Kelly Connolly and Everyday Surfboards

Our Roxy friend Kelly Connolly stopped in Roxy headquarters last week, board in tow, and a basket full of organic goodies from her “Little Santa Anita” canyon Sierra Madre, CA, where she resides with fellow shaper, Richard Wisz, their dog Mona, six chickens (Nell Mrytle, Heisenber, Bra bra, Flo, and Koko), and their 3 rabbits (Lil Mo, John Muir, and Darla).

A passionate person who loves to create things, among one of her many creations is a 5’8” blue board quad with handmade fins and a unique resin tint epoxy glass job by Greg Mungall…a beauty she shaped herself out of 100% recycled GreenFoam (pretty cool) for Roxy’s VP of Marketing Danielle Beck.

Kelly spent her childhood years in the likes of San Diego, San Francisco and Los Angeles which likely plays a key role in her undying affinity for adventure and love of water, because, let’s be real…she was never far from it…traveling to the likes of Hawaii, Mexico, Costa Rica, the Caribbean Islands, Scotland, England, Ireland, Italy, France, and Spain!

It was inevitable that someday she’d find herself shaping boards and being one with nature, something she’s mastered in her now full-time job shaping surfboards! A process that usually takes a couple hours but not without a break in between to give it some ‘fresh eyes’. She always considers “who will be riding it, where…and what the riders expectations are”.

We HEART Kelly and know you will too! Have a look at the Everyday Surfboards Facebook Page or their blog and become inspired. We are!
