Our three Somerset Collection nominees

Our three Somerset Collection nominees
Originally uploaded by Official Roxy Photos

What a group of good looking gals! Our fourth event was at the Somerset Collection in Troy, MI. What a beautiful place. If you live near this area or will be passing through the area any time soon it’s a place I highly recommend doing some retail therapy.  This mall is so beautiful and inviting. Our event was in the center of the mall placed under a giant dome skylight. The light filled our area with sunlight creating such a beautiful glow to all our ladies.

Placed on both sides of our location were two killer ball fountains. Ball fountains are usually a sphere of polished stone that rolls on a frictionless cushion of water. The slightest touch can change its direction making these rolling fountains popular for "hands on" displays.  Our turn out was so impressively large we had to form our lines around these fountains giving our ladies something nice to look at.

Our judges had such a hard time, as they always do coming up with a decision.  We had a group of quality girls at this event that blew our judges away.  Each time we let the judges deliberate at this event we found that we were always waiting in suspense!

Our three young women who participated in the fashion show and proved to be nothing short of a Roxy girl were; Heather Marie Merchant, Shiyonna Felder and Melanie Parke. Sweet gig ladies.
Thank you for all the ladies how came out on Saturday. We had such a good time and enjoyed being in such a young and energetic atmosphere.

Roxy Follow Your Heart Tour, Mall of America

Hat Trick! The third stop of our tour at Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota was another Roxy Follow Your Heart tour victory! The crowd that rallied was one for the record books.

We had great attendance at not only our casting call on Friday but the fashion show on Saturday drew quite the crowd. We had three floors of spectators and standing room only. We felt so much love from our friends at the MOA Quiksilver store. They were full hands-on the whole time and hella vibed out about the event. It made everything much more special for us. Shout out to our friends at the store and much thanks! The whole crew we had at MOA really made for a rad experience overall, we had all smiles and good times with our friends from Teen Vogue, Ford modeling agency and always a betty, our Schick Quattro for Women volunteer.

Drum roll please, our MOA finalist is……………………… Alex Brower.

Alex is native to Minnesota but spent ten years of her life in Hawaii. Alex is 17 years old and is confident about her personal style and fashion.

"Fashion is a great way to show who you are. It’s a unique expression and you can tell a lot about someone not only by the way they dress but also how they take care of themselves,” says Alex.

What an amazing answer for such a young lady. Well done!

It’s superfine to know we are halfway through our model search, time keeps ticking faster and faster. Our next stop is in Detroit, Michigan. But of course along our way we will be making a few appearances who knows where? Watch for us on the road! Looks like Chicago could be somewhat on our way? Keep it real much love again to everyone that came out to MOA. Lets try and beat the record attendance in Michigan!!

ROLL OUT,
Samantha and Carissa

Minneapolis, Mall of America

Ummmm………..bizarre family vacations! CHECK! Mall of America was so overwhelming! What a place. If you’ve never been it’s a must see tourist attraction for sure. Carissa and I were taken back by the massiveness of this place.

After sitting for almost 28 hours straight of driving we could use some get up and go time!

We hit the pavement hard first thing at the Mall of America (MOA). This place is ridiculous. MOA is approximately three miles long from start to finish around the entire circumference. It took us quit some time to see the whole thing but now we can definitely check this one of our life list. It was great to get out and enjoy some exercise, not to mention window shop at the same time. We are going to be sure and check out the aquarium tomorrow as well.

The turn out at MOA was the best yet. We drew such a crowd that provided great energy. MOA had a wonderful staff especially our friends from the quiksilver store. We had a lot of fun today with everyone and truly enjoyed all the wonderful gals that came out and participated.

Pictured are the three finalists from MOA, starting with Kelsey, Alex and Zina. What a good lookin crew! Hope they’re getting their beauty rest for tomorrows runway show at 1 p.m.! Who will be our big winner? Or better yet who will win that killer raffle prize of a $500 Roxy gift card? All you need is a free raffle ticket!!! If you’re in the area check it out!! Were giving away a ton of stuff and of course……………………..FLIP FLOPS!!!!

Roxy FYH Tour Irvine Spectrum, CA
Originally uploaded by Official Roxy Photos

We have our first Follow Your Heart tour Roxy model search contestant. Brandy from Laguna Beach, California. The judges had a very difficult time narrowing it down but decided Brandy had the most genuine answers to their questions and had the look they were after. Congratulations Brandy! Brandy predicts that this seasons hottest fashions will be bright accessories and white jeans!

We’re headed to Portland, Oregon next. We’ve got our eyes pealed. Keep up the good work on the video postings as well. We’re still giving away $10,000 to the girl with the best video submission. We get stoked to watch them so keep rolling (we don’t have TV so we really mean it) entertain us!! Were on our way up to Oregon now but not without stopping in San Francisco for a little taste of culture and that golden gate bridge. Hope the R.V. is capable of making it through the hills of San Fran. Looking forward to telling you all about it.

Yours truly,

Samantha and Carissa

Irvine Spectrum 3 contestants

Roxy FYH tour Irvine Spectrum, CA
Originally uploaded by Official Roxy Photos

Just a short jot about our first event back. Today was our first event after having over twenty days off! It was a little odd getting back into the swing of things, especially driving Big Bessy. Carissa had made the comment that I was driving extra ordinarily aggressive. I guess that’s what happens when you go from driving a small car to a giant R.V. it’s freedom, apparently I own the road. Oh, and I must give some major kudos to Carissa who parallel parked Big Bessy this evening in ONE try!!!! What, what! Watch out for me if you’re in the Irvine area and I happen to be behind the wheel.

Today went great. It was our first day back as well as our first model search event. Joining us in our model search events are still our good friends at Schick Quattro for Women in addition to Teen Vogue and Ford Models. How sweet is that?

We had a spectacular turn out of young ladies. We choose three finalists who will be featured in our fashion show tomorrow at the Irvine Spectrum mall where we will be narrowing it down to one contestant who will be placed with the other finalists of our tour.

All the girls who came out today did a remarkable job on the cat walk and had so many original answers to our judges questions. Remember ladies, this contests is just as much about what’s on the inside as the out, it is called the Follow Your Heart tour. So don’t be shy, we love originality and natural beauty!!

The final winner will be selected August 1st and will be featured as the first ever Roxy.com spokes model and will be featured in Teen Vogue. We also have plenty of other prizes to be won such as, an authentic Roxy, Follow Your Heart tour locket, luggage and various amounts on gift cards starting at one hundred dollars. If your in the Irvine area I highly suggest you check out our tour. It’s a day full of excitement and fun with different events happening all day and yes our infamous flip flops!! It’s been a grueling day and Carissa and I are very tired and need our beauty sleep for tomorrow. This is a model search right? Stay posted for more details about our Irvine escapade tomorrow. Glad to be back on the road and very excited for our new quests to come.

Fresno, CA our last college tour stop!

Fresno, CA our last college tour stop!
Originally uploaded by Official Roxy Photos

Finals week. Our last college stop was in Fresno, California at CSU Fresno. It was a perfect end to our college tour stops. The students seemed eager to take their minds off studying for a while and check out the Follow Your Heart tour exhibit. Students seemed quiet, I am sure their mentality wasn’t exactly it’s usual due to finals.

We had a lot of awesome help all day from so many wonderful people. Shawna, who was our Fresno contact, helped us all day. She gave us plenty of volunteers, helped us out with an awesome location on campus that even had a water hook-up. This may not seem like a commodity to you but for us it’s a dream come true. We use the water to wash off the screen for screen-printing our tee shirts and without water it limits the amount of different screens and colors that we use. Carissa and I were exceptionally creative with the different designs we could use today. The girls in Fresno got hooked up on their tees! We made some really good-looking ones.

Around lunch we had another pleasant surprise, four more volunteers showed up to help from the local  Quiksilver store. They were so amped to help out, it made for such a good time. We also found out there is a high school located on campus that helped create a great demographic for us. They added a little spontaneity to the whole day. Like I said, it was a great last tour stop, we couldn’t have asked for more.

We’re on our way to Huntington now to drop off the R.V. for maintenance. Carissa and I head to Colorado for a few weeks until we continue on with the second half of our tour. We can’t wait for the model search to start. We look forward to seeing all of your gorgeous faces. Check out the schedule for the second half of our tour and don’t forget to keep following your HEART!!!
