Another Roxy Style Spy installment! This time Style Spy takes you behind the scenes of the Fall 2010 Roxy photo shoot. The girls looked fresh, natural, and fun. Find out what hair stylist Corie Bardo and make-up artist Yumi have to say about the look they gave the models.
Thank you to everyone that worked so hard on this Design A Bikini contest! We were so thrilled to see all these different entries. You guys are all very talented, and the team here at Roxy is very impressed with all the entries. The judges will be having a hard time picking the winners, but we they definitely know what they’re doing, so we trust them. Let’s hear it for the finalists! Congrats!
The scene on the set of our Fall 2010 Look Book shoot was relaxed, girlie and a ton of fun. Our awesome model, Ashley, rocked out to old school tunes by Madonna and TLC, while she was styled in the season’s latest and greatest. Check out our brand new line right here.
Another installment of Roxy Style Spy has arrived! This time we learn how to wear shorts in the Fall.
Crazy, I know! Well apparently shorts aren’t for just summer anymore. Pair them with boots, cozy hoodies, and even throw them over tights! The result is a pair of shorts that you can take right from summer and wear right into Fall. Genius. For some tips from our stylist, see below.
Thank you to everyone who has entered Design A Bikini so far! But it’s not too late! You have until Saturday July 31, 2010 to submit your design. What’s in it for you? Except for the most amazing bragging rights to all of your friends, there are of course other prizes involved as well. Check out the complete list of prizing here. After the contest closes this Saturday, we will select the top 20 finalists, and the judges will weigh in on the winners! Finalists will be announced August 20th, 2010. Winners will be announced on September 20th, 2010.
Last month, we got to hang with PacSun at their Ballyhoo event. At the Roxy booth we offered DIY native american inspired necklaces.
Not only are they fun to wear, but they were even more fun to make! As you can see, the girls went wild over our DIY booth. Thanks to Erika Domesek from P.S. I made this, we learned step by step how to create our new favorite accessories of the summer!
Here is our step by step guide:
What you’ll need: Feathers, beads, tape, and suede string in any colors you like!
1) Measure the string to your desired length, cut it, and repeat so you have three strings that you can braid.

Our VP of Design, Summer Rapp, definitely lives up to both her name and job title (mastermind behind our Roxy designs). So we thought, who better than Summer to share some of her namesake season’s style secrets, beauty tips and favorite happenings with our readers?
Read below for some Summer Inspiration!
Fav Destination: “Cabo Surf Hotel in San Jose del Cabo for some serious R&R and super fun waves!”
Cabo Surf Hotel
Style Secrets: “I’m loving my Roxy Day Trip Romper in navy from the summer line…it makes me feel very 70’s chic.”
Beauty Tips: “I am obsessed with Bobbi Brown sunscreen body spray with spf 15. The oils keep your skin hydrated and leave you feeling fresh! I also love the way salt water texturizes my hair after a long day at the beach. I like to keep it that way awhile before washing.”
Weekend Routine: “You can find me at the Farmer’s Market every Sunday in Long Beach, CA supporting the local farmers. I’m also looking forward to the Rose Bowl Flea Market in LA this Sunday!”
…And it makes perfect sense since Summer is a season in which this fabric thrives. This awesome material is so unexpected and fun- whether in an outfit or bathing suit. I especially love what Cynthia has done with it in the Bond One Piece. I’d pair this with a black miniskirt or long cotton skirt for a night out on the town. Done and done!
Here’s a style tip straight from our Fashion Director, Lisa:
“Summer is all about that easy, slouchy racerback tank. Low armholes and deep necklines leaving you too exposed? Ditch the bra and opt for a bikini top in a color that’s meant to be seen.”
