Born and raised on California Jim Russi, like many southern Californians, took to surfing at a young age, thus inspiring a lifetime obsession of surfing fueled by his creative talents in surf photography!

Residing in the north shore of Oahu, and traveling the world to snap some of the most imaginative pictures, Jim Russi has photographed for major magazines, advertising campaigns and continues to do great work for both Quiksilver and all of us at Roxy!

His new book “Flying Through the Clouds” is loaded with over 180 images that he has captured during adventures in the sand, water and sky.  

We’re so excited to celebrate his latest release with fellow Roxy team riders including: surf legend Lisa Andersen, Kassia Meador, Rosy Hodge, and Kelia Moniz who can be seen doing what they do best throughout his book now available on Amazon.

Minx Nails stopped by today to join in all the fun happening at the Quiksilver Pro, NY and despite the rain we were thrilled to have them! Not wasting any opportunity to beautify ourselves, we took the party upstairs at the Allegria Hotel and held a private shindig with our friends from Minx nails and some of the ROXY athletes!

Everyone had tons of fun checking out all the cool designs and took advantage of the VIP  beauty bar and nail studio throughout the day. The nail techs MINX-ified invited guests’ nails with special designs directly inspired by all things Roxy! From Roxy hearts, stripes, polkadots, metallics, brights and more, it was easy to make these nails completely unique!  Let’s just say…they Nail’d it!

Join Roxy & Bikram Yoga Long Beach (BYLB) on the beach for FREE Roxy Sunrise Yoga!

In anticipation of National Yoga Day on September 10^th we’ll be stretching our muscles and our minds at the Roxy Sunrise Yoga special happening at the Quiksilver Pro, NY right on the beach! We’ve always appreciated the relationship between yoga and surf, with yoga having been known to improve balance, flexibility and core strength which is much needed in Surf. Kelly Slater is a notorious fan of yoga – and that’s all we need to hear.

From Sept. 7^th (pending rain) through Sept. 10^th from 7am-8am, Roxy will be celebrating a healthy, fit lifestyle with Yoga instructors from BYLB and special guest instructor Joseph Encinia.

BYLB located in Long Beach, NY opened its doors in October of 2010 by co-owners and certified Yoga instructors, Anne Hayes and Colleen O’Rourke. Since its inception, the state-of-the-art facility has welcomed over 2,600 students, athletes, as well as countless international yoga champions who have shared their knowledge and passion with the Long Beach, NY community.

A frequent visitor of BYLB and yogi extraordinaire Joseph Encinia will be a guest instructor at Roxy Sunrise Yoga! As the current and 3 time National Champion and 2011 Male International Asana Champion it’s obvious we’ll be learning from the best!

Born and raised in Dallas, TX, Joseph began his life with an unpromising diagnosis of Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis leading to countless visits to the hospital and a struggle to strengthen his joints and muscles. After a major knee surgery, Joseph later suffered an unexpected heart attack at 13 years old. In an attempt to regain control of his health he learned about Bikram Yoga and has inspired millions since.

Pittsburgh-born and New York City-based, Hannah pulls together eclectic, yet recognizable, sounds that excite our dancing feet.  Exploring the full genre spectrum, Hannah Rad combines the best beats from pop, electro, nu disco, indie, rock and hip hop.

Regularly, you can catch Hannah Rad on NYC’s premier Internet radio station, EastVillageRadio.com as she hosts her weekly show “Belly of the Beast”… But if you want to see her do her thing live, make sure to swing by the Roxy Beach House in Long Beach, NY.  Her schedule is below:
