Meet Roxy Event Assistant Britta

Hi!  I’m Britta, the new girl at Roxy.  I’m the Event Assistant, and love it.  I obviously help plan the Roxy events.  This includes everything from surfing & snowboard tournaments to retail events and photo shoots.  I feel very lucky to work here.

So what brought me to Roxy?  My appetite for outdoor sports & fashion.  And the University of Southern California.  Originally from Minneapolis, I drove my car to LA so that I could study entertainment marketing at USC.  The marketing internships I attained through USC are pivotal to who I am today.  My experiences working in the marketing departments at Marks & Spencer (Dublin), Seventeen Magazine, Warner Bros. Studios, and Disney Consumer Products all helped prepare me for the role I play with Roxy.

Everyday in Huntington Beach proves to surprise me.  One day I may be cheering my Roxy surfer girls at the U.S Open and another day I might be helping a Roxy snowboarder work-out in Malibu for a photo shoot.  Another important aspect of my role is finding new Roxy models, so I’m always happy to meet new girls that naturally represent the Roxy lifestyle.  Of course, my job also includes the less glamorous aspects so vital to events, like clean-up after all of the fun.  But no matter what this job may entail – I’m happy to be there for a marketing team that rocks, and quite frankly, is overflowing with joie de vivre because we all believe in what we do.  I certainly don’t mind supporting some of the GREATEST athletes in the world, while at work.

Meanwhile, watch the roads for the bright pink Roxy bus!  I may be driving inside (also one of the many random responsibilities that come along with my job)!  Starting mid-September, I will be going on a road trip in the Roxy bus across part of the country.  This 1.5 month road trip will be in honor of our new Athletix line.  I will be visiting a few college campuses  and hope to see you there…

Overall, my life as a Roxy girl proves to be very adventurous, busy, and fun.  Always let me know if you have any questions!
