Mix & Match

The origin of the mismatched bikini is unknown. Our guess is it was a sleepy surfer girl who paired an odd top with the wrong bottom while gearing up for dawn patrol. Post-session, her friends noticed her newfound style and were forever inspired. A trend is born.

Our new Swim Finder tool demonstrates Roxy’s swimsuit bounty. You can peruse our entire swim collection while finding yourself the perfect fit. As classic as a black string bikini is, it suddenly seems so…boring. Whether you’re a seasoned mixer or seeking to experiment with your look, our swim finder will take your bikini wardrobe to another level.

Pair bold turquoise with coral, or opt for a cool black and white combo. Tribal prints and wild florals have exotic appeal, Liberty prints and sassy crochets are ideal for a romantic rendezvous. Wraparound detailing, knots and peekaboo ties spice up simple cuts. Cater to your body type by coverage, style or activity. For a relaxing SUP cruise, match a tiki tri top with a flirty ruffle bottom. Relax poolside in a knotted bandeau and knotted tie side, in contrasting colors.

As with life, the possibilities are endless. Mix it up.

Download of the Week: Erin Ivey “Amelia”

It says a great deal when Austin’s legendary music scene considers you its darling, but such is the case these days for velvet-voiced Erin Ivey. While the singer-songwriter’s past releases have toed a folk-rock line to one degree or another, Ivey recorded her latest album, Broken Gold, with R&B/dub organ trio the Finest Kind, a decision that’s yielded a slinkier sound well-suited for sunny spring days – in Texas or anywhere. Even though Broken Gold just came out in late February, we’re already huge fans…and we think you’ll be as well!

One Shirt, Three Looks

We’ve pulled our Roxy Waves on Waves top, one of our favorite Summer T’s for the season, and let three of our in-house Roxy girls put their own unique spin on it, and here’s what they came up with.

Look 1: Chelsea went  for an off the shoulder casual look and really showed off of the dolman sleeve; which happens to be one of our heavy favorites both on and off the beach.

Robin went retro in Look 2 with some 70s inspired high waisted jeans and the ultimate chain-linked statement necklace.   Don’t count the graphic tee out from your next tailored look!

Ashton got funky with the shirt in Look 3 by layering the top with a maroon tank, a chunky knit scarf, & some playful heels. She even gave her shirt a nice distress for some extra character (totally stealing this idea!).

Featured Artist: Jasmine Ash

Known until recently as the main creative force behind Los Angeles indie pop band Oh Darling, Jasmine Ash has just released her own album, Beneath The Noise, a songwriting/production collaboration with ex-Phantom Planet members Jacques Brautbar and Sam Farrar. Her delicate vocal style may remind us of the great Kate Bush, but her infectious melodies are hers and hers alone – and there’s no better example than her new single, “Killer“. If you like what you hear, you can keep track of her on Twitter and Facebook.

Download of the Week: Work Drugs “Dirty Dreams”

At first glance, Work Drugs‘ own claim that they make music “specifically for dancing, yachting, sexting, and living” seems unbelievably cheeky…until you dig into their songs. At that point, their self-description becomes awfully apt. On singles such as “License To Drive” and “Daddy Bear,” the Philadelphia band channels the spirit of a less dramatic M83 and a warmer Radio Dept. to create music that we find undeniably sunny, yet hardly empty-headed. Visit their site for a handful of free downloads and fun videos, and follow them on Twitter for even more good stuff.
