Roxy’s own Carribbean ladies’ champion, Chelsea Tuach has claimed yet another victory! Chelsea took 1st place at this year’s National Kidney Foundation(NKF) Pro event  over the weekend in Cocoa Beach Florida. At only 14 years old the rising star traveled from her home in Barbados with the intension to compete solely in the amateur  division. However, she had a quick change of heart once she hit the beach, entering the women’s pro and proceeding to score 7 and 8’s all the way to the top! Congrats Chelsea! And safe travels!

Roxy Pro Surfer Kassia Meador is already known for her skills in the ocean. More and more, she is also getting to be known for her talent as an artist and photographer. So she is taking her skills as an artist to Fashion’s Night Out 2010.  This is another installment of Fashion’s biggest party which celebrates and supports the retail and fashion industry.

Plan your night here, but most importantly stop by the Roxy store in SOHO. Come in, and take a look at our new rad SK8 decks. During Fashion’s Night Out, Kassia will be there to lend her skills to help personalize your own skate deck to take with!

The name of this week’s band is also one of our most fervent wishes: Eternal
Summers. While you hopefully spent the last few months relaxing and soaking
up rays, this Virginia-based duo comprised of Nicole Yun and Daniel Cundiff
has been holed up in the back woods, creating the fuzzy, jangly Silver, out
on September 28th on Kanine Records (home to one of our other faves,
Surfer Blood!). As we head into the fall, let the cool, woodsy sounds of Eternal
Summers ease you into things. And look on the bright side: if summer were
eternal we’d never get to go snowboarding!
