If  you wanted to give your legs a little rest from being up at the mountains all day, we’d say the Sponsor Village was a good way to go.

Sponsors set up tents filled with all kinds of fun surprises. Cover Girl provided make-overs, Paul Mitchell let you test their favorite products, and our friends at DC had a green screen photo-booth. Other sponsors included Rockstar, High Cascade, Zumies, FuelTV, Lib Tech/GNU, DC, Quiksilver. Each of our sponsors provided games and prizes, raffles, and our favorite freebies! We had our own booth where we demo’d new ROXY boards including boards with the new C2BTX  technology.

Fun at the Sponsors Village

This afternoon the third annual Mascot Superpipe competition went off! At least 20 different mascots competed in the competition and stomped some big air in the Superpipe.

My personal favorites included the Hot Dog and Woolly from Mammoth Mountain.

Congratulations to the NPG Cable Cheetah (Trevor Jacob). His front 5, inverted front 7 put him in first place. He won $3,000.

“I’ve never snowboarded with a big head like that before,” said Trevor, “it’s kinda hard to see out of it but fun.”

What are you going to do with your $3,000?

“I’m just going to go to a big breakfast,” said Trevor.

Yum, sounds good. The Pink Bunny (Spencer Whitting) came is second, taking home $2,000 and the Hot Dog (Luke Wynen) came is third, taking home $1,000. Luke also had the best trick of the contest – a McTwist! Best costume went to the Bodi Tree (Forrest Schmidt) and he took home $100.

After the Slopestyle Finals I caught up with Roxy team rider Erin Comstock to see how the girl riding was this year.

“The girls have really been stepping it up every year,” said Erin, “It’s really fun to see Jenny Jones, Jamie Anderson, and Cheryl Maas. Last year, when the jumps were max 45 ft. girls were trying fives and sevens, this year with it being 60 ft. it’s still fives, sevens, and a couple nines. It’s been really cool to watch girls just man up! Cheers to the girls.”

We just had the Quiksilver Cluck Off and Tyler Flanagan won $1,000 in cold hard cash, a lib tech board and DC boots. His corked backside 180 mute grab won him first place.

Between watching the Superpipe and Slopestyle events, running into our own Torah Bright on the mountain, we got to sneak in some mountain time. We took up some of our favorite members of the press, and hired an instructor to help us perfect our carving moves.

Day 2 of the Roxy Chicken Jam wrapped up with the Superpipe Semifinals. Kelly Clark’s amplitude put her into first place along with her back to back 720s. Paulina Ligocka also had an exceptional run, she was the only one to do a 900.

Tomorrow, after the slopestyle finals at the Roxy Chicken Jam, we will be crowning the 2009/2010 Women’s Swatch TTR World Champion. Roxy team rider Lisa Wiik is currently in 3rd place and has a good chance of winning! Watch this video to get excited.

Torah Bright was spotted with the Chicken in front of the slopestyle course at the Roxy Chicken Jam. You can catch her tomorrow signing autographs from 5 – 6 pm at the Quiksilver store in the Village at Mammoth Mountain.
