We are so proud of our girls Torah and Sarah. They did an exceptional job at Winter X Games XIII and have proven to be made from "Hearts of Gold."
Below is the press release from our PR peeps:
ROXY SNOW TEAM WINS BIG AT WINTER X GAMES XIII
Freeskier Sarah Burke Wins Third Consecutive Gold Medal,
Snowboarder Torah Bright Reclaims Gold and Sets Record for Women’s Snowboarding
Huntington Beach, CA – January 26, 2009 — Roxy is pleased to congratulate snow team riders, Sarah Burke and Torah Bright, on their amazing performance in Aspen this weekend, striking gold in the SuperPipe at Winter X Games XIII. Freeskier Sarah Burke took her third consecutive X Games gold medal in the Women’s Ski SuperPipe while snowboarder Torah Bright, reclaimed gold, after winning the Women’s Snowboard SuperPipe in 2007 and finishing with a silver in 2008. Roxy team rider Kjersti Buaas placed fourth in the Women’s Snowboard Slopestyle and Jess Cumming, who rides for Roxy Skis, took home the bronze medal for her performance in the SuperPipe.
Earlier in the games during the elimination round, Torah set a Winter X Games record for the highest SuperPipe score for women with a 97.33 out of a 100, second only to Olympic gold medalist Shaun White who holds the record for men with 97.34. Known for being one of the most technical and progressive female snowboards ever, Torah prevailed over the competition in the finals looking stylish as ever in her Gold Signature RoxyBrightEdition jacket with a Backside 360, Switch Backside 7, McTwist, Air to Fakie, Switch Frontside
7. Olympic gold medalists Kelly Clark and Hannah Teter finished second and third respectively.
Sarah proved once again she is the top freeskier in the SuperPipe. Sitting in the second spot going into her third and final run, Sarah came from behind as the last and final skier of the night with a Cork 900 safety grab, straight air, 540 mute grab, right 540 safety, cork 7 tail. The judges
awarded her a 93.33 out of 100, just enough to beat out Jen Hudak’s 92.66. Jess Cumming finished third for a bronze medal,
making it Jess’ first appearance on the podium at the Winter X Games.
In addition this year’s Winter X Games, saw many exciting changes with Women’s Freeskiing Slopestyle making its grand debut, along with equal pay for both the men’s and women’s events. Over the past six years Roxy’s Sarah Burke has been instrumental in pushing for the addition of Women’s Freesking Slopestyle and equal pay through her lobbying efforts and continual involvement with the governing bodies for X Games and skiing.
The 2009 Winter X Games XIII were held at Buttermilk Mountain Resort in Aspen/Snowmass, Colorado.
Check out Torah’s insanely good run on the SuperPipe from Winter X games. Torah set a Winter X Games record for the highest SuperPipe score for women with
a 97.33 out of a 100, second only to Olympic gold medalist Shaun White who holds
the record for men with 97.34. My favorite trick was her McTwist.
Tonight was quite a night at X Games for Roxy team riders Torah Bright, Sarah Burke, and Jess Cumming!!! Roxy dominated the podium for the Ski Superpipe! Sarah earned her third consecutive gold medal as she took first and Jess Cumming took bronze. For the Snowboard Superpipe, Torah rose above the competition and came in first, taking home her second X Games gold. We’re so proud of you. Congrats ladies!
Below is a picture that we snapped of Sarah and Jess tonight at X Games.

Already a shoe-in for tomorrow’s finals sitting in second spot after her first run, Torah proved this morning she is the number one to watch in the pipe. The crowd thought they had seen it all with Olympic gold medalist Kelly Clark posting a remarkable 95.00 out of 100 on her second run. Torah was up next. Making good on her promises to show some new tricks, Torah cemented her place as the most technical rider with a switch backside 7 to a cab 7 and posting an all-time high score of 97.33. This is the highest score for men or women in X Games superpipe history!!!!
We’ll be watching closely tomorrow night as torah goes for her second X Games gold medal in the Women’s Superpipe.
"I am so happy to be in tomorrow’s final," said Torah. "I’ve been working on some new combinations like the ones today. I had more but I kinda ran out of room at the end of the run, we’ll see how it goes tomorrow."
Watch the women’s superpipe finals are tomorrow night, 9:30 – 11:30 PM ET on ESPN.

Hi Friends! Here is the last episode from the Roxy Road Trip Australia, turn up the sounds and ENJOY!
"So the last day of the trip the waves weren’t the best so we decided to go to this waterfall in the mountains. Its was raining pretty hard, so when we rocked up the fall was flowing full force. The air was really cold because we were really high up in the Australian mountains. We threw on our amazing wetsuits and had to get down in the water and check it out, being the adventurous crew we are..Water is the strongest element in nature and being there feeling all the energy around us, we couldn’t help but feel ALIVE. This was a perfect ending to a very unique trip. Thanks for joining us on this incredible adventure. Hope this inspired you to get a few friends together pack up the car and head out on your own road trip. Who knows what you will find" –Candice O’Donnell
