Aloha~ It is day 6 here at the Roxy Pro Hawaii, and the waves at Sunset are so massive that they are running the Men’s event all day. There are actually 2 different swells happening right now, which is making the line up really messy. The Roxy Pro will hopefully continue tomorrow afternoon to start with the Quarterfinals with the swell going down. In the Quarter finals we have Roxy’s Sofia Mulanovich, Megan Abubo, Sally Fitzgibbons, and Lee Anne Curren all hoping to get thru to the Final. Here are their thought on surfing Sunset…..
Here are Roxy Girls; Bruna Shmitz, Laura Enever and Sally Fitzgibbons enjoying the shore pound of a very strong and upcoming swell. WHEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeee!!!
These girls are enjoying the Northshore so much, and surfing SO well, you will see tons of images of these girls.
Wednesday night was THE night to throw a celebration party; and what better than a charity party for Keep A Breast, a foundation for Breast Cancer awareness. The venue was the classic Haleiwa Joes and by was it packed! There were so many people there, and many from the Womens World tour competing in the Roxy Pro. Gosh, there was tons of great artwork, and especially on the breast molds.
We woke up to a massive swell with great conditions, so the Roxy Pro started with the Trialist heat and through to the end of Round 2. The trials went great, this next generation of girls are definitely stepping up. Check out this you-tube of how scary Sunset can be, trust me I paddled out to "caddy" for Sally Fitzgibbons and I had nervous belly that a close out wave would get me!!
Aloha, day 3 out of 13 is still too small to run the event. This photo was taken at 620 this morning so that is why it is dark. We are off to go surf Roxy lefts, and stay tuned for some photos
Here is a photo from yesterday of Kassia, we had a ton of fun yesterday afternoon when the sun came out. We had the whole team out surfing and gathering on the beach.
Aloha~ Day 2 here at the Roxy Pro Hawaii and the call is to wait for the bigger waves.
So, today we have most of the Women’s World Tour out practicing at Sunset Beach, to be ready when we do run the event. If it is anything like our artwork for the event, the girls are definitely excited.
Check in later to see what our day is filled with, probably lots of sun and surfing and possibly some great photoshoots with our Roxy Team.
If you’re in Hawaii for the Roxy Pro, come to Haleiwa Joe’s at 9 pm Wednesday night for a special Keep A Breast party! They will be auctioning breast casts of professional surfers, skaters, and snowboarder and a live musical performance by Kings of Spade and Sheriff Brown. The breast casts that they are auctioning were painted by artists from Pocket Full of Monsters, Ground-Up Movement and many more.
Lots of times, Christmas break=vacation time! Why not visit one of the top ten roller coasters in the world?!?! Here are some of the fastest, tallest and biggest you can find:
Aloha~ It is the first day of the holding period for The 14th annual Roxy Pro HI, and the waves are too small to hold the first rounds. The weather is beautiful and the waves are on the way, we look forward and are excited to start tomorrow in 5 ft waves. The Roxy girls are all testing out their new surfboards for tomorrows BIG DAY (hopefully)
So with the contest not running, I decided to check out the site to make sure all was good. Iris, our PR director for Roxy, and I actually got a VIP tour of the athlete tent and BOY OH BOY will they love the view!
