Surf Girl Roxy reads just like a diary chronicling the surfer girl over the past decade. Filled with memories, dreams, and beautiful vivid photographs (by Dewey Nicks), Surf Girl Roxy is a sneak peek into the fascinating lives of surfer girls:

Every wave is different. So we learn to take them as they come, to adapt and adjust. Same thing goes for traveling. Every arrival means a new time, a new landscape, new people. You learn to enjoy the moment, to dig deep and connect as fast as you can, because you only have right now. And then, poof! It could be six months before you see that person again.

We bring ‘home’ on the road with us: a picture, a flag, a favorite cereal, a favorite song. We kill houseplants, miss Mom’s cooking, and pay late fees, but that’s all erased with every new takeoff. We know we are lucky. We’ve seen places we never though we’d see.

We don’t get homesick because the people that we care about are always with us. That, and we’re having too much fun to think about what’s happening somewhere else. We’re like a band of gypsies in beanies and boardshorts, dragging our boards and languages and customs to the strangest, most amazing places in the world.
